Our client owns and operates a diverse portfolio of utility-scale solar, onshore wind and battery energy storage assets across multiple European markets, playing a key role in accelerating the energy transition.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced asset management professional to take ownership of a strategically important renewable energy portfolio, driving long-term asset value while working within an international, collaborative environment.
What will you be doing?
As Senior Asset / Portfolio Manager, you will assume full commercial ownership of a portfolio of renewable energy assets across Europe, maximising operational performance, financial returns and long-term value creation.
Working closely with internal technical, commercial and finance teams, as well as external service providers and investors, you will act as the central point of coordination for your portfolio while representing shareholder interests at asset level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking full ownership of the commercial and financial performance of a portfolio of solar, wind and battery storage assets.
- Leading governance across multiple Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), including acting as Managing Director where required.
- Coordinating technical, commercial, financial and legal stakeholders to ensure optimal asset performance.
- Managing annual budgets, business plans, forecasts, liquidity planning and financial reporting.
- Monitoring portfolio KPIs and implementing performance improvement initiatives.
- Overseeing operational service providers, ensuring contractual obligations and performance targets are achieved.
- Managing key commercial contracts including O&M agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, land leases and insurance policies.
- Supporting refinancing activities, acquisitions, divestments and transaction processes.
- Identifying operational, financial and regulatory risks while implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Acting as the primary interface for lenders, investors and key external stakeholders.
- Presenting portfolio performance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across governance, digitalisation, reporting and portfolio optimisation.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will bring a combination of commercial, financial and technical understanding of renewable energy assets together with the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments.
We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience within Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Investment or Project Finance.
- Strong knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy assets including solar, wind and/or battery storage.
- Excellent financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, P&L management and cash flow analysis.
- Experience managing project finance structures and lender relationships.
- Strong understanding of PPAs, O&M agreements, EPC contracts and renewable energy commercial frameworks.
- Experience overseeing third-party technical service providers.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across multiple functions.
- A proactive, commercially focused and solutions-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English. German would be advantageous, while additional European languages such as French or Dutch would be beneficial.
What’s in it for you?
This position offers the opportunity to join one of Europe’s most established renewable energy businesses during an exciting phase of continued growth.
Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, you can expect:
- Hybrid working with up to 50% remote flexibility.
- 30 days annual leave plus additional holidays over Christmas and New Year.
- Comprehensive learning and development programmes.
- Career progression within an international renewable energy organisation.
- Pension contributions and insurance benefits.
- Health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Corporate discounts and mobility benefits.
- Modern office facilities in either Hamburg or Munich.
- The opportunity to directly contribute to Europe’s energy transition while managing a high-value renewable asset portfolio.
