Job title: High Voltage Principal Engineer

Who are we recruiting for?

We’re hiring on behalf of a prestigious client in the maritime and renewable energy industry. They’re seeking a High Voltage Senior Engineer with extensive experience in designing and implementing high-voltage systems for marine structures, offshore wind farms, and similar projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Establishing policies, procedures, and standards for engineering projects.
  • Planning, conducting, and supervising engineering design reviews and analysis assignments.
  • Devising new approaches to engineering problems and recommending changes in methods, procedures, or design.
  • Monitoring technical quality, content, consistency, and continuity within assigned projects.
  • Applying diverse knowledge of engineering principles in a broad range of technical responsibilities.
  • Developing, reviewing, and providing guidance on engineering projects.
  • Preparing written responses to clients and liaising with engineering specialists internally and externally.
  • Distributing work among assigned engineers and monitoring their performance.
  • Assisting in developing qualification statements, proposals, and bids.
  • Promoting Quality System within the assigned engineering group.

Are you the ideal candidate?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • S. degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or related disciplines. M.S. is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of engineering experience in shipyards, design/consulting offices, shipping/oil companies, or a classification society.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) 66Kv-230Kv+ AC/DC systems, Offshore Wind HVAC, HVDC power generation, and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with HV Transmission, HV Substations, HV Cables, and HV AC/DC Converters.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage technology application in Offshore Wind Farms.
  • Ability to provide support for Certification, Verification, and Classification Proposals and Projects.
  • Experience with IECRE requirements is a plus.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex or unique engineering problems.
  • Effective human relations skills for client interaction and leadership.
  • Proficiency in short- and long-term planning for efficient scheduling.
