Job Title: Head of Market Strategy & Revenue Forecasting
Location: Paris (preferred) or Milan

Who are we recruiting for?
Our client is a successful and award-winning European independent power producer, backed by strong long-term infrastructure investors. With an inspired vision to nearly quadruple its operating capacity by 2030 across France, Italy, Spain and Germany, the business is building a vibrant and focused Energy Management function to match its ambitious growth trajectory. This is a unique opportunity to join a determined organisation at a pivotal moment in its evolution.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and owning a qualified, group-wide revenue forecasting framework – ensuring consistent methodology, full assumption traceability and a clear separation between external adviser curves and the internal house view.
  • Building and continuously refreshing fundamental market views across four core European markets: demand growth, capacity expansion, interconnections and regulatory frameworks.
  • Translating complex market intelligence into a strong, assured house view on long-term power price dynamics, flexibility value and the relative attractiveness of each country and technology.
  • Owning the revenue and merchant-risk section for every investment case – delivering scenario-based outcome distributions that move the business beyond deterministic NPVs toward P50/P90 and VaR-style metrics.
  • Providing creative and inspired strategic guardrails for the origination and portfolio team on merchant vs contracted exposure, preferred offtake structures and the use of BESS and hybrids as portfolio hedging tools.
  • Acting as the motivated internal reference point on power market fundamentals – running briefings, sharing market intelligence with development teams, country managers and EXCOM.
  • Working hand-in-hand with M&A, Structured Finance and Asset Management to improve models over time through realised-vs-forecast feedback loops.
  • Representing the business in selected industry forums and maintaining strong, productive relationships with leading market advisers including Aurora, Baringa and AFRY.
  • Initially operating as a focused individual contributor, with a clear roadmap to build and lead a team of one to two analysts.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Motivated by eight or more years of experience in European power markets, with at least three to five of those in a market analysis, strategy or revenue modelling role.
  • A determined and proven track record building or challenging long-term revenue assumptions for solar PV and/or BESS projects at investment-grade standard – with IC memos or financing work to evidence it.
  • Deep, qualified expertise in at least two of the four core markets (France, Italy, Spain, Germany), with the appetite and capability to cover all four.
  • Strong and assured grasp of power market fundamentals: price formation, capture rates, cannibalisation, capacity and ancillary mechanisms, and BESS value drivers.
  • Quantitatively strong – comfortable specifying modelling structures and interrogating Excel and code — but a strategist first and a coder second.
  • Brave enough to constructively challenge external advisers, originators, M&A teams and financiers when the numbers do not stack up.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience presenting to investment committees, lenders or institutional shareholders.
  • English at full professional proficiency; French a strong plus; Italian or Spanish a bonus.
  • Comfortable and energised working in a build-phase environment where not everything is defined.

What’s in it for you?

  • A unique, pivotal role with direct influence over multi-hundred-million-euro investment decisions in solar PV and BESS.
  • The inspired opportunity to build a market strategy and revenue forecasting function from the ground up in a lean, high-impact team.
  • Direct and regular exposure to the CIO, Head of Energy Management and top-tier institutional shareholders.
  • A clear and supported pathway to grow into a team leadership position.
  • A vibrant, international working environment spanning France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
  • The chance to be part of a determined, growth-stage business where individual contribution is visible and rewarded.
  • A competitive remuneration package reflective of the seniority and strategic importance of the role.
