Job Title: Customer Success Manager
Location: Greece, ideally Athens
The Opportunity
An investor-backed maritime technology business is expanding its presence across Greece as major shipowners increasingly look to technology to improve operational visibility, safety and fleet performance.
This is an opportunity for an experienced maritime professional to take their knowledge beyond the vessel and into a role where they can directly influence how leading shipping organisations adopt and benefit from AI-driven technology.
The business is looking for someone who understands life onboard, can speak credibly with shipowners, ship managers and senior operational stakeholders, and has the personality to build strong, trusted customer relationships. Previous shore-based experience is valuable, but not essential. The key requirement is genuine sea-going experience and the ability to translate that operational knowledge into meaningful conversations with customers.
For a Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, Master Mariner or experienced seafarer considering their next move ashore, this offers a different route from the traditional maritime career path.
The Impact You Will Have
- Become a trusted maritime advisor to customers, using your operational experience to understand challenges and demonstrate where AI-driven technology can create real value.
- Build strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers and other senior stakeholders, supporting long-term customer retention and growth.
- Help customers adopt technology across their fleets and turn operational data and insights into practical improvements in safety and performance.
- Bring genuine frontline maritime insight into the business, influencing how the product develops around the realities of vessel operations.
- Represent the business confidently across the Greek maritime market, helping strengthen relationships with some of the industry’s leading organisations.
What Success Looks Like
- Significant sea-going experience as a Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer or equivalent senior officer, with a strong understanding of vessel operations and safety.
- Ideally, previous shore-based maritime experience, such as Marine Superintendent, Fleet Superintendent or a similar operational role.
- Naturally outgoing and confident, with the ability to build rapport and communicate comfortably with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Curious about technology and able to learn and explain new solutions to people from both technical and commercial backgrounds.
- Commercially minded, proactive and motivated to build a career beyond traditional onboard or operational roles.
What Is on Offer
- A genuine opportunity to move from sea to shore and apply hard-earned maritime expertise in a completely different environment.
- Exposure to leading shipowners and operators and the opportunity to influence how AI technology is adopted across global fleets.
- A highly visible position within an investor-backed, growing maritime technology business.
- Significant autonomy, international exposure and the opportunity to develop into a broader customer and commercial leadership career.
- A role where maritime experience is not simply a qualification, but the foundation of the value you bring.
For an ambitious maritime professional looking to take their expertise in a new direction, this is an opportunity to move beyond traditional career paths and play a meaningful role in the digital transformation of shipping.
