Job Title: VP Project Finance
Location: West Palm Beach, FL (hybrid)
The Opportunity
One of our key clients, US-based developer of long-duration energy storage, is searching for a VP Finance. As the business moves its flagship projects towards financial close, it is looking for a senior project finance professional to own the economics of the portfolio, lead lender relationships, and act as the key financial interface with investors and offtakers.
This is a high-visibility role at the centre of a well-capitalised, mission-driven energy developer with serious commercial ambition.
The Impact You Will Have
- Own the project finance process end to end across a live renewables development portfolio, from capital structuring through to financial close.
- Lead lender negotiations directly, including on debt assumption structures, senior debt, construction financing and tax equity where applicable.
- Build and own the Excel models that underpin every investment decision, board presentation and offtaker conversation.
- Act as the internal and external authority on project economics, advising the CEO and origination team on bankability, risk allocation and return thresholds.
- Shape how AI tools are embedded into financial modelling and reporting workflows, improving speed and rigour across the function.
What Success Looks Like
- 8 to 15 or more years in project finance or infrastructure finance, with a strong focus on US energy, utility-scale renewables or gas-fired power. Recent, live-deal experience is essential.
- A track record of building and owning complex Excel financial models including debt sculpting, DSCR mechanics, covenant testing, tax equity structuring and equity distributions.
- Proven ability to lead financing transactions, not just support them. Experience of working directly with lenders, sponsors and offtakers from term sheet through close.
- Commercial clarity when translating deal structures into model assumptions and communicating them to boards, utility partners and investors.
- A collaborative, low-ego operator who can work closely with a small senior team while holding ultimate accountability for financial outputs.
