The Opportunity
One of Europe’s most active solar and storage platforms is at a genuine strategic turning point. Built over more than a decade into a multi-gigawatt portfolio spanning Southern Europe, the business has moved decisively from developer to long-term IPP. Institutional capital is committed. The asset base is growing. Now the focus shifts to how that portfolio performs over the long term, and market intelligence sits at the heart of that question.
This is not a research function. It is a senior commercial role for someone who can own the power market view, stress-test the assumptions of third-party forecasters and translate deep analytical thinking into decisions that shape investment, origination and revenue strategy across solar and battery storage. The platform already has analysts. It needs a leader with a point of view.
The Impact You Will Have
- Own the long-term power price outlook across core Iberian, French and Italian markets and put it directly to work across investment appraisal, capital deployment and asset strategy
- Shape PPA and offtake structuring across a live and growing portfolio at a moment when merchant exposure and contract complexity are both increasing
- Lead BESS revenue analysis across merchant, ancillary and capacity mechanisms as storage transitions from opportunistic to structurally central within the portfolio
- Build and elevate the analytical capability of an existing team, setting the standard for rigour, independence and commercial relevance
- Become a trusted voice in senior leadership and investor conversations, providing market-grounded intelligence that directly influences how the platform is positioned and resourced
What Success Looks Like
- Between five and ten years in power market analysis, energy economics or a comparable discipline, gained within a utility, IPP, developer or recognised advisory practice
- Genuine command of long-term power market modelling across multiple European jurisdictions, with the ability to challenge consensus views with evidence
- Hands-on experience applying market analysis to PPA structuring, offtake decisions or BESS revenue optimisation in a commercial context
- The intellectual confidence to form a clear view and defend it under scrutiny from senior leadership and institutional investors
- A track record of elevating team output, not just personal contribution
