They are currently recruiting for Master Mariners who can join the team with the aim of the role to carry out forensic investigations of marine casualties and associated incidents globally, either on an individual basis or as part of a wider team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To carry out investigations and assessments relating to Master Mariner matters
  • To perform onsite surveys relating to Master Mariner matters
  • To produce letters and reports detailing the findings of their investigations and/ or attendances
  • To provide expert evidence in court/ arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony
  • To provide advice/ support to clients in mariner related matters
  • To follow operating procedures
  • To carry out and assist in marketing activities
  • To assist in discipline related and group business development initiatives
  • Any other adhoc duties which fall within the individual’s abilities

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Master Mariner, ideally with Command experience
  • The ideal candidate would have experience sailing as Master on Tankers or offshore drilling vessels/rigs.
  • Highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be based within commuting distance of the office.
  • Must be fluent in English, able to converse on technical matters and write reports.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally at short notice
  • Able to work alone on site, without direct supervision.
