Job Title: Business Development Director
Location: Remote within North America

The Opportunity

An established, profitable market leader in utility scale storage is now investing heavily in a small number of true rainmakers to unlock its next phase of growth. With over 3 GWh deployed, a US built EMS/BMS platform and EBITDA north of 50m USD, the business has the product, balance sheet and delivery engine. What it needs now is a Business Development Director who can turn that platform into deep, multi year relationships with top tier utilities, IPPs and data centre players across North America. This is a high visibility, revenue critical hire with direct access to senior commercial leadership and the board agenda.

The Impact You Will Have

• Own and grow strategic accounts across utilities, IPPs and large energy buyers, turning one off wins into portfolio wide partnerships.
• Originate, shape and close complex utility scale storage deals from first conversation through to commercial close, structuring full product plus software and services.
• Act as the commercial lead with internal engineering, product and delivery teams to design bankable solutions that can be executed profitably.
• Map the North American market, define where to play, and execute targeted go to market strategies with tangible pipeline and order growth.
• Represent the business as a senior face in the market, raising its profile and getting it consistently shortlisted for the most challenging projects.

What Success Looks Like

• A proven track record of originating and closing large, multi million energy or storage projects with major utilities, IPPs or hyperscalers.
• Comfortable selling technically sophisticated solutions, working daily with software and electrical engineers and negotiating detailed commercial terms.
• Operates as a hunter and relationship builder, not an account caretaker, with a clear personal playbook for building pipeline and shortening sales cycles.
• Gravitas to engage C level stakeholders, backed by data, market insight and a deep understanding of power markets and storage economics.
• High energy, resilient and commercially sharp, thriving in a lean, growth focused, investor backed environment.
