Location: Paris, France (Hybrid – up to 2 days remote per week)
Reports to: VP Sales and Marketing
Travel: Regular within Europe (UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia)
Salary: €60,000 base + up to €20,000 variable + stock options + French benefits

The Opportunity

As the Business Developer, you will play a key role in expanding OceanWings’ commercial reach and strengthening its position within the maritime ecosystem.

You’ll act as both technical ambassador and strategic commercial partner, engaging directly with shipowners, charterers, shipyards, and naval architects to translate innovation into adoption.

This is a strategic, relationship-driven role – ideal for someone who can blend engineering credibility with commercial acumen and who thrives on building trust across complex stakeholder networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent and promote OceanWings’ wind propulsion technology across Europe.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, operators, yards, and class societies.
  • Develop and manage a structured sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Lead client presentations, tenders, and commercial proposals with technical accuracy and impact.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, project, and marketing teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and delivery capability.
  • Contribute to retrofit and new-build partnership development with leading shipyards.
  • Represent OceanWings at industry events and conferences.

About You

  • Background as a naval architect, marine engineer, or technical sales professional who has moved successfully into business development.
  • Deep understanding of ship systems, retrofits, and energy-efficiency technologies.
  • Experience in consultative B2B sales or solution selling within the maritime, energy, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong communicator, credible with senior technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (French advantageous).
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, with frequent travel across Europe.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability, maritime innovation, and collaboration.
