Job title: Senior Development Manager – Solar PV and Onshore Wind Projects

Location: Wiltshire – Hybrid 2/3 days in the office

  • Identifying and assessing suitable sites for Solar PV and Onshore Wind projects.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, including grid and environmental assessments, initial yield assessments, and design layouts.
  • Performing constraints mapping exercises to identify early-stage project risks.
  • Securing grid connections and managing agreements with DNOs and TOs.
  • Negotiating and finalising land agreements with landowners.
  • Managing legal aspects of projects, including securing Exclusivity, HOTs, Option Agreements, Leases, and Easements.
  • Overseeing preparation of planning applications and engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities.
  • Collaborating with design and construction teams to optimise project layouts.
  • Supporting financial modelling and maintaining project budgets.
  • Ensuring smooth project transitions to construction and reporting progress to Senior Management.
  • Managing project budgets effectively.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy project development.
  • Commercially astute with a growth mindset and understanding of project economics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across the UK and Ireland.
  • Proven track record in negotiating land agreements and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Own car and driving license for travel throughout the UK and Ireland.
  • Knowledge of planning regimes, support mechanisms, and sector regulations.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity while staying focused on goals.
  • Communicative, collaborative, and confident in a dynamic work environment.
