What will you be doing?

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 3D modelling of Anemoi wind-assisted propulsion equipment and layouts on ships.
  • Producing clear, accurate 2D drawings for manufacture by shipyards and fabricators worldwide.
  • Generating views of 3D models to demonstrate practicality and highlight any issues.
  • Efficient management of complex 3D assemblies, associated 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Ensuring final designs are practical, compliant with regulations, and meet classification society requirements.
  • Communicating with naval architects and engineers, incorporating knowledge into future designs.
  • Identifying potential design problems and providing practical solutions.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring on CAD design best practices.

Person Specification:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent training in a technical discipline such as engineering or naval architecture.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience as a CAD designer or draftsman in the marine industry.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D computer-aided design and drafting software, including Autodesk Inventor.
  • Knowledge of CAD best practices, drawing standards, and CAD file management systems.
  • Experience in shipbuilding best practices, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to apply appropriate tolerances and check tolerance stack-ups.

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Appetite for innovation and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
