Job Title: Senior Benefits Analyst

Who are we recruiting for?

We are recruiting for a renowned client in the Energy sector who is seeking a qualified and motivated Senior Benefits Analyst to join their strong and award-winning team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth administration and management of employee benefits programs.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing administrative and clerical support to members of the Human Resources Benefits Department.
  • Administering medical and welfare claims for active and retired employees. * Initiating and maintaining records for short- and long-term disability claims. * Handling employee inquiries regarding disputed benefit claims.
  • Processing paperwork for new hire benefit enrollments and employee terminations, possibly sharing this responsibility with another HR staff member. * Conducting routine new hire orientation for benefits, explaining health and welfare benefit coverages and limitations.
  • Producing employee and dependent eligibility enrollment reports annually for vendors during the open enrollment process.
  • Coordinating benefits enrollments or changes and updating employee records in HRIS.
  • Performing system updates to providers’ databases for medical, dental, and vision coverages.
  • Monitoring surveyors’ participation in the annual medical surveillance program and generating summary reports as needed.
  • Handling very sensitive information daily with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Offering training and assistance to more junior-level benefits or administrative staff as necessary.
  • Ensuring that all documents are filed in a timely manner.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Holds a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Has 5‒7 years of previous related experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Undergoes continued training and professional development in Human Resources Benefits capacity.
  • Is HIPPA certified and has other benefits-related training as deemed appropriate.
  • Exhibits effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with employees, outside vendors, and service providers.
  • Has the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Can prioritize workload and handle assignments simultaneously.
  • Possesses a well-rounded temperament with the ability to handle complicated tasks under potentially stressful situations.
  • Can receive direction and effectively carry out assignments from multiple members of the HR Benefits Department and Management.
  • Obtains a working knowledge of the Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
