Job Title: Grid Connections Manager

Who are we recruiting for?
Our client is a motivated and successful battery storage development team playing a strong role in the UK’s energy transition. Working alongside a private energy investment partner with a strong pipeline of renewable and storage projects, they are now seeking a Qualified Grid Connections Manager to lead all aspects of grid connection activities across Great Britain, while also contributing to site identification, planning, and land agreements.

With over four decades of activity in the power sector, this experienced development team has delivered more than $5.5Bn worth of projects across both conventional and renewable generation assets. For over 30 years, they have been at the forefront of renewable energy, developing around 700MW of clean supply capacity representing $3.3Bn of capital investment. These projects now save more than 1.75 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, providing renewable energy to the equivalent of 1.4 million homes and supporting approximately 2,800 jobs.

Their focus spans utility-scale renewables (solar and battery storage), distributed energy solutions and community networks, and grid support infrastructure, with an active presence in the US, UK, and Australian power markets. Their track record combines assured technical expertise with a motivated commitment to sustainable growth and improved delivery across every stage of project origination, development, asset management, and optimisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading and managing grid connection applications to DNOs, IDNOs, and the Transmission System Operator

  • Reviewing connection offers, identifying risks, and optimising costs to ensure improved project outcomes

  • Tracking progress from application through to energisation, coordinating with network operators, contractors, and internal teams

  • Maintaining accurate project data and delivering assured, timely updates to the development team

  • Acting as the primary contact for external stakeholders on all grid connection matters

  • Supporting site feasibility assessments, planning applications, and land negotiations

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Qualified with an in-depth understanding of GB distribution & transmission networks and grid connection procedures

  • Knowledgeable of Distribution Code, G99/G100/P28/G5, and CUSC requirements

  • Experienced in technical and commercial evaluation of grid connections

  • Strong, focused, and motivated with excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with determination
