Job Title: Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Manager

Who are we recruiting for?
We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client in the maritime industry, who is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager to join their operations team. This role is integral to the safe, cost-effective, and pollution-free operation of the company’s vessels, ensuring that all Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation (EIA), and Navcom issues are expertly managed.

What will you be doing?
As the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Manager, you will:

  • Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
  • Ensure that all activities related to EIA and Navcom within the Gas Operations adhere to the Company Management System, HSEQ, and Maintenance Philosophy Policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for operational EIA LNG and/or NGL related matters and represent the company at industry events and seminars.
  • Conduct research and establish relevant programs for use within the fleet, while monitoring and recommending changes to existing policy documents.
  • Monitor and advise on changes to regulatory and legislative compliance items.
  • Review electrical, instrumentation, automation, and Navcom work plans, ensuring maintenance and repair/replacement strategies are followed.
  • Participate in HSEQ meetings, advising on relevant areas and approving incident close-outs.
  • Ensure adherence to the Engineering Change Management process related to EIA systems.
  • Provide support and guidance on the company’s management system, strategic programs, and software applications.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Vessel Manager/Ship Team on relevant EIA issues, offering troubleshooting and operational support.
  • Develop and support assigned projects, assisting with CAPEX modifications/upgrades and monitoring their implementation.
  • Assist Marine HR with ETO technical interviews, briefing, and familiarization of existing and new sea-staff, and evaluate relevant technical training courses.
  • Monitor and analyze operational reports, identifying trends in equipment failures, defects, overdue maintenance, and incidents, preparing summary reports and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop fleet-specific strategies and best practices for operating EIA systems on board.
  • Manage assigned EIA projects, including significant repairs, programs, investigations, processes, and meetings.
  • Support new building and project specification reviews, select and evaluate EIA & Navcom makers and equipment, and study new technologies for new builds or retrofits on vessels.
  • Develop design criteria for the EIA systems.

Are you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified education and training as an electrical engineer.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Experience in the marine industry.
  • Familiarity with technical operations and current industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • The ability to respond positively and effectively to customer needs.

Preferred:

  • Experience with LNG or NGL vessels in a seafaring or superintendency role.
