Job title: Commercial Associate

Who are we recruiting for? We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Associate to join a growing first-class Ship Owner and a busy dynamic team in London. As a Commercial Associate, you will be in charge of the commercial management and day-to-day operations of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Vessels. You will have oversight of 2-3 vessels and will have the opportunity to learn about day-to-day Operations of LNG carriers and also to gain an understanding of the commercial aspects of long-term charterparty contracts and joint venture arrangements between major shipowners. There will be opportunities for international travel and also the potential to get involved in business development depending on your individual skills and preferences.

What will you be doing?

  • Reviewing and coordinating required actions in relation to relevant shipping contracts such as ship management agreements and time charters parties.
  • Coordinating shipping settlements while ensuring that contents are correct and in compliance with the relevant contracts, and monitor receipt of payments.
  • Preparing, where applicable, quarterly/annual business and operational reports.
  • Arranging insurance cover required for the vessels in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Coordinating other commercial activities required in relation to relevant shipping contracts.
  • Monitoring noon report for compliance with TCP and Charterers voyage instructions.
  • Monitoring fuel and boil off performance of the vessels in close coordination and support from Ship Management Team to ensure compliance with TCP and protecting owners’ interest from any potential claims.
  • Carrying out, when required, ashore commercial briefings for ship officers.
  • Supporting on business development activities where required.
  • Learning and implementing the Safety Leadership Behaviours in the day to day work environment and driving collaboration (incl. helping others around you) regardless of title, rank, and nationality.
  • Being familiar with the contents of the “K” ARE Roadmap and by doing and improving the job, will contribute to the Company achieving its Mission, Business Goals, and Living Values.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • You graduated with a business degree from a business school/university with specialities in any of the following fields: maritime/transportation, economics/business administration. Applications with 1 to 2 years’ experience in those sectors will be considered.
  • You are fluent in English and competent using MS Office.
  • You are a team player who possesses strong attention to details;
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are capable of rolling up your sleeves to deliver work in a time-sensitive setting;
  • You exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
