Executive Integrity has exclusively partnered with a pioneering company at the forefront of harnessing wind power for the propulsion of ships. Our client is a rotor sail market leading company with a mission to dramatically reduce CO2 released from the maritime industry.
What will you be doing?
The Project Engineer will manage the project for the integration of the Rotor Sail equipment onto ships, from pre-contract planning and discussions with clients through to final handover of the completed project. The Project Engineer will work closely with clients, shipyards, yard project teams, integration designers, classification societies, engineering teams, and production teams to answer queries and to anticipate and solve issues.
Your focus will be to make the integration process as smooth sailing as possible but with an eye for detail to advise on improvements and to overcome issues related to the installation onto vessels that improves cost efficiency, productivity and delivers predictable and measurable scalability and quality.
Managing technical and commercial interfaces
Managing structural, electrical and hydraulic system integration designs by design consultants and shipyards.
Ensuring that technical documentation is consistent and delivered to quality, cost and time expectations.
Project planning and management for equipment supply, integration design, shipyard activities, installation, commissioning and sea trials.
Regular reporting to management and to clients on project progress, budget, timescale and risks.
Project handover and wrap-up including lessons learned and feedback into continuous improvement for people, products and procedures.
Are you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate has experience within Maritime Technology, Naval Architecture or retrofits and refits in Shipyards. You will have a strong aptitude for process efficiency, technology, equipment design and strong understanding of shipping/maritime. This candidate will need a commercial mindset, be a team player, systematic self-checker with strong attention to detail and able to explain complex technical issues.
Education / Qualifications
Relevant technical degree e.g. Engineering, Marine Technology or Naval Architecture
Knowledge and Experience
Shipping/ Maritime - preferably with shipyard experience
Experience of managing projects from a technical perspective
Experience of working abroad
