Job title: Marine Systems Engineer

Who are we recruiting for? Our client, a leader in autonomous marine systems, is seeking a highly skilled Marine Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. What will you be doing? As a Marine Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the growth and development of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the CTO, Engineering, BD, and Sales teams to evaluate new technologies for integration into core software systems.
  • Assisting in capturing customer requirements, defining solutions, and developing project proposals.
  • Crafting customer acceptance criteria for system and product delivery.
  • Ensuring smooth delivery of systems ashore and afloat in coordination with Operations/Programme Delivery.
  • Identifying potential issues and integrating solutions.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Managing and monitoring infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance.
  • Overseeing the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
  • Defining customer needs and functionality in a service development cycle.
  • Coordinating various teams for testing and evaluating design and implementation.
  • Implementing and maintaining backups, security, and redundancy strategies.
  • Engaging with upper management regularly, providing reports on project status, activities, and achievements.

Are you the ideal candidate? The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in electronics, controls, or computer science.
  • Experience with programming languages, operating systems, and current equipment and technologies.
  • Knowledge of controllers, electronics (e.g., relays, D/A boards), and Controlled Area Networks.
  • Experience in marine systems, project management, and application design and integration.
  • Familiarity with Team Foundation Server or other version control systems.
