Job title: Managing Director - Port Terminals

Location: Gaeta, Italy

Who are we recruiting for?

Executive Integrity are pleased to be working with a leading logistics group in Italy, who are looking for a Managing Director to run their Ports Terminals company. The role will be handling 3 ports terminals in Italy, with responsibility on the P&L, budget and strategy of the company, reporting directly to the shareholders.

The group is "infrastructuring" its ports terminal division (for instance in 2022, 10 million euro was invested in port cranes, port warehouses, digitisation, etc.) to further develop this business division.

What will you be doing?

  • Effective organisation and coordination of staff at the Terminals of Gaeta, Civitavecchia and Oristano

  • Coordination and management of relations with bodies (e.g., Port Authority, Custom, etc.)

  • Cost and Efficiency optimisation of the operations

  • Commercial activities: business development, tendering & pricing activities with customers, development of new business lines, scouting new customers, strengthening business with existing customers, elaboration of business plan

  • Evaluation and implementation of new investments

  • Responsible for turnover and margins of the company

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Ideally Master's degree in economics, law or engineering

  • Excellent knowledge of occupational safety legislation (Legislative Decree 81/08) and environmental legislation

  • Business Development background with experience in the terminal business

  • Preferably at least 5 years of experience in top positions of companies in the logistics, freight transport, or port sector

  • Fluent in Italian, both written and verbal, with excellent skills in English also

  • Ability to organise, manage and enhance human resources

  • Strong skills in the following competencies: leadership, standing, empathy, pragmatism
