Job title: Business Development Director

Who are we recruiting for?
Our client, a global group specialised in renewable energy assets development, is seeking a Business Development Director to join their team. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and presence in the UK market and beyond.
What will you be doing?
As the Business Development Director, you will play a vital role in expanding their footprint in the marine sector. You’ll collaborate with the Marine project development team, participating in various stages of project development, from site feasibility to construction. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Marine and Ports related Business Development activities within the UK and potentially internationally.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders such as port authorities, port associations, regulators, and major shipping companies.
- Presenting and implementing the company’s business proposition to stakeholders, developing win-win commercial and financial strategies.
- Managing the creation and delivery of strategic commercial solutions, including coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
- Working closely with the Special Projects Director and senior management to align commercial negotiations with strategic objectives.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset and over 10 years of experience in the Marine sector within the UK, including Ports and/or fleet operators.
- Expertise in energy and power project lifecycles and risks for large-scale utility projects.
- Exceptional leadership skills and a track record of successful project management.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities, both independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in report writing, project management, and an aptitude for adapting to a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible attitude towards work, including the willingness to travel regularly across the UK.
- Previous experience in renewable energy project development is advantageous.
